10 Facts to Know About the Candidate:

​

1. Rosanne is a first generation college graduate in her family, and the first to receive a graduate degree. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Morningside College and holds a J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law. She is the first and only student ever from Morningside College to be interviewed for a Rhodes Scholarship.

 

2. In 1992, Rosanne completed a summer of study and received a Certificate in Political Journalism from the Fund for American Studies and Georgetown University, while interning at the White House Fellows. She later became a semi-finalist for a White House Fellowship.

 

3. Rosanne chose to return home to the Siouxland area after graduation from law school, to be close to her aging family members and engage in the numerous opportunities available to her.

 

4. Plante is a certified Iowa Master Gardener since 2004, having been awarded 10 year and 500+ community service hours lifetime achievement awards. In the fall of 2019, she received credentials and is an Iowa certified Master Conservationist as well.

 

5. Rosanne has been married to her husband Chad for 10 years and they enjoy living on 10 beautiful acres in northwest Iowa. They are proud pet parents to their rescue dog, Princess Bella, who is a therapy dog and volunteers throughout the state of Iowa at hospitals.

6. She is a volunteer attorney for the Wild Ones-a nationwide native plants/natural landscapes charitable organization.

7. Rosanne is an outspoken advocate for the survivors of traumatic brain injury since her husband sustained such an injury in November of 2016. She has been her husband’s sole caregiver and support. Rosanne has spoken throughout the Midwest at conferences and other events regarding gardening as therapy for TBI and stroke survivors. She has also received nominations from the Global Beauty Awards, in the category of “Most Impactful” for her work on behalf of TBI survivors and their families.

8. Rosanne’s personal mission is the “Green Ambassador” program she launched in 2016. The mission of the Green Ambassadors is to link home gardeners with excess produce to soup kitchens and food pantries that help feed the hungry. She works extensively with the Sioux City Gospel Mission to promote the program. She has over 100 individuals and families in 6 states that contribute fresh garden produce to those in need. To date, the program has contributed over 6,000 pounds.

 

9. She serves as the Iowa Ambassador of Hope for the national Tiaras of Hope organization, is the legal advisor and Assistant Director for the Miss Nationwide Foundation and Pageant, and is the current Mrs. Agriculture America Elite.

 

10. Acting as an advocate and educator in all spheres of her life, Rosanne is honored to have won the “Best in Education” award at the 2022 Global Beauty Awards, Congeniality at the 2023 Global Beauty Awards, and Best Entrepreneur at the 2024 Global Beauty Awards for her work with the pageant industry empowering young women throughout the United States.
