Shared Care Legislation
Rosanne has been a volunteer lobbyist for the past 5 years advocating for Shared Care Legislation, specifically SF274 (2024) and HF485 (2023) which ensure that both parents have a fair and reasonable chance to secure 50/50
shared parenting time with their children during a divorce or custody matter.
Nursing Home
Regulation Reform
In her 30’s for 9 years, Rosanne was a caregiver for three elderly relatives that were all in long-term care facilities in Iowa. Two of those relatives she removed and cared for at home until they passed due to poor care by the facilities. She also contacted the Department of Inspections and Appeals to file numerous complaints against one of the facilities in Sgt. Bluff, Iowa. The facility received several citations. She predicted the decline and decay of the nursing home industry and has many ideas for how to improve the standards for our most fragile Iowans.
DHS Reform
In her legal practice, Rosanne has witnessed countless missteps and
mistakes by DHS social workers and administrators. Those misjudgments have led to families being torn apart unjustly and the DHS system being used against parents as a weapon. Rosanne believes the system needs to be overhauled and updated to meet the current needs of Iowans.
